The RAF Museum at Cosford is essential viewing if you're interested in aviation history. Highlights include the only place you can see Britain's three V-bombers: the Valiant, Victor and Vulcan. The museum also features the multi award-winning National Cold War Exhibition. Over 70 aircraft are on display, including many cutting-edge experimental jets such as the TSR2 and Bristol Type 188. The aircraft are housed in four large hangars, one purpose-built. Location is north-west of Birmingham not far from the M54 and just off the A41. The museum is open daily (except for around Christmas) from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm and admission is free.
