10a. ROYAL NEW ZEALAND AIR FORCE DISPLAY PROGRAMME - RONGOTAI
1938. This programme features the Vickers Wellington, which the
RNZAF had ordered at the time. Although it was the only bomber
the RNZAF purchased new, the Wellingtons never made it to New Zealand
as they remained in England to form No. 75 Squadron RAF when Britain
declared war on Germany. The programme features great period
advertisements (Bristol, Airspeed, Impire Airways, Supermarine, Irvin,
Blackburn, de Havilland, Smith's, Avro, Rotax, Rolls-Royce, Miles, Cook
Strait Airways, Union Airways, The Air Survey & Transport Co Ltd,
Percival, Vickers), history of RAF and RNZAF, training, RNZAF Band,
flying programme, NZ Territorial Force.

original copy
of an early New Zealand air pageant. Programme gives details of
the display, details on passenger flights, a guide to "instructional
aerobatics explained", milestones in aviaton history and local aerial
history.
