Caboolture Warplane Museum, Queensland

Located at Caboolture Airfield, north of Brisbane and only a few minutes off the main highway, this small museum is well worth a visit as, in addition to the interesting aircraft, they have plenty of memorabilia and items from WWII aircraft - things that are not often seen in bigger museums than often focus more on full-size machines. A highlight is being able to sit in a Mig 17.

CAC Wirraway.  The Wirraway is a derivative of the North America T-6 Harvard and was built in Australia. One easy to spot difference is the three-bladed propeller.

CAC Mustang. This aircraft is airworthy and frequently flies from Caboolture Airfield

Mig 17. This was the aircraft type that was used successfully against American aircraft during the Vietnam War. The excellent thing about this aircraft is that the museum allow you to sit in the cockpit.
